How to draw Aunt Arctic, Herbert, Klutzy, Rockhopper, and G.

October 27, 2008

Welcome to my guide on how to draw penguins!

Aunt Arctic

1) First, start off with two circles. One bigger one below a smaller one. Connect them up as shown.

-

2) Draw a line from the top of the small circle down to the bottom of the big circle. Also draw a face going through the middle of the littler circle.

-

3) Draw the beak, eyes and feet. The eyes should be above the line that goes through what is now the head and the beak should be below the eyes. The eyes should touch the beak, and the bottom of the beak should touch the bottom of the little circle. Also draw the feet as shown.

-

4) Draw Aunt Arctic’s arms in as shown. Also add a line on her feet. You may also want to erase all of the guidelines.

-

5) Draw her belly patch, and thicken all of the ‘proper’ lines.

-

6) Draw in her toque and glasses. Also fix her arms. Congratulations! You have officially drawn Aunt Arctic. Now colour her in.

Herbert P. Bear

1) Start of as you would usually draw a penguin; but make the head more of an oval shape.

-

2) Add the two lines on Herbert.

-

3) Add in Herbert’s face, legs and arms. Forget those lines on Herbert’s right arm, I was going to put his hands in this step but took them out.

-

4) Add in Herbert’s ears and fix up his arms and feet. Also remove the guidelines.

-

5) Add in Hebert’s hands and you might want to fix up his legs like I did. Add the spanner into his hand. Congratulations! You have officially drawn Herbert. Now colour him in.

‘Klutzy’

1) Start off with these basic shapes.

-

2) Add the tiny feet and make stalks that connect the eyes and claws to the body. Also draw the feet in.

-

3) Add more detail to Klutzy’s legs and make his claws claws. Congratulations! You have officially drawn Klutzy. Now colour him in.

Gary the Gadget Guy / ‘G’

1) Start off with the two circles as you would usually do.

-

2) Add the two lines.

-

3) Draw Gary’s beak. Because his eyes are covered up by his glasses, draw his glasses instead. Make sure you add the glaze on his glasses too. Add the feet.

-

4) Add his collar and arms.

-

5) Add the detail to his arms and add his lab coat and tummy patch. Congratulations! You have officially drawn Gary. Now colour him in.

Rockhopper

1) Start off with the two circles. With Rockhopper, they are proportioned and connected up differently. Follow this step carefully!

-

2) Add the line down the middle exacally how it is in the picture.

-

3) Add Rockhopper’s face. It is a bit different to other penguin’s faces. Add the arms.

-

4) Add Rockhopper’s pirate hat and feet.

-

5) Remove the guidelines and add his eyebrows and beard. Add detail to his arms and hat. I whooped up on his left foot big time, I’m sure you can do better by making it smaller. Congratulations! You have officially drawn Rockhopper. Now colour him in.
